This means improved shadow handling, super-detailed textures, and improved antialiasing. Display distance is also better, which can come in handy for competitive FPSs.

If you're looking for the most powerful high-tech console on the market, this is it. Without taking into account the next-gen, naturally. The computing power is twice that of the Slim.

3. Storage

The PS4 Pro has 1TB (1000GB) of storage, the PS4 Slim is available with 1TB or 500GB and the standard version only has 500GB. If you buy a lot of dematerialised games, you can never have too much space, so opt for 1TB. If you're used to deleting your games once they're finished, a 500 GB is more than enough.​

4. Connectivity

The Pro version of the PlayStation 4 is equipped with three USB ports, one more than the other two models. This makes it extra convenient to connect a virtual reality headset and get the most out of virtual reality games on your VR PlayStation. Both the PS4 Pro and the Slim version also feature an optical audio output, if you want to connect your Sony console to an older home theatre.

If you're careful about your electricity consumption, whether for environmental or budgetary reasons, the PS4 Slim consumes about half as much power as the Pro. The former is, therefore, less likely to heat up while gaming. When plugged into a 4K display, the energy usage of the PlayStation 4 can increase further.

7. The Price

You may have already guessed it, but the Pro is obviously more expensive than the Slim or standard version. £90 more to be exact, when purchased new.
