I originally ordered a MacBook in Fair condition, but after being informed that the original supplier was out of stock, I was upgraded to one in Good condition. Naturally, I thought I was getting a good deal and expected the condition to reflect the upgrade.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed when it arrived. The casing has very noticeable sticker shadows/stains across the lid and around the trackpad where the previous owner had clearly placed stickers. Some of these are still easily identifiable, including love hearts and an Arsenal FC design, not ideal when I’m a Liverpool supporter!
In addition to this, the MacBook has a dual-language keyboard featuring Russian characters alongside the English characters I requested. This wasn’t mentioned or made clear to me before purchasing, and I would have expected to be informed of something like this beforehand.
I’ve been a fan of Back Market and have used them three times previously, purchasing my last MacBook and two iPhones, all of which I was very happy with and had no issues with.
The reason I’ve still given a higher star rating is that, hardware-wise, I really can’t fault the MacBook. It performs well and everything appears to work exactly as it should. My disappointment is entirely with the cosmetic condition and the unexpected dual-language keyboard rather than the actual performance of the machine.
Unfortunately, on this occasion, the overall experience hasn’t lived up to my previous purchases. Given that this MacBook was described as being in Good condition, particularly after being upgraded from the Fair condition model I originally ordered, I expected considerably better.
