I purchased a MacBook Pro (13-inch, M2, 2022) listed in Fair condition. Cosmetically, that description was accurate - there were visible dents and signs of wear, which I expected.
However, shortly after using it the screen began glitching, lost colour and then went completely black, even though the Mac itself was still working. This felt like more than normal wear and tear.
The device fortunately had AppleCare+, so Apple carried out an extensive repair at no cost. The laptop now works perfectly, but without AppleCare+ this would have been a very costly issue.
Back Market did respond and offered repair, replacement or refund, but communication took some time and Apple ultimately resolved the issue faster.
Overall, the outcome was positive, but I would advise buyers to check refurbished devices very carefully on arrival and factor in potential issues, especially with “Fair” condition listings.
