I've only just got round to setting this up. As it happens I worked for Dell in a variety of roles, some of them technical, quite a few years ago but I've stayed loyal to the brand, and I'm not averse to sorting issues out myself. I bought the box to replace a still functional but aging Optiplex 790, which wouldn't upgrade to Windows 11, and I wanted a spec that would last. I was a shade disappointed that it didn't have an optical drive but I have a USB one so it's not a major drawback. I also failed to do my homework and found I couldn't connect my monitor to it owing to me not having a Displayport cable, (the 790 was DVI-D) which proved harder to obtain than I expected (Curry's PC World don't stock them in-store, but they could order me one - no thanks, I'm quite able to go on-line myself). I had also poked around inside and initially thought the hard drive was missing - then discovered it was an on-board 1Tb card - how technology has moved on...... Now up and running, and wow is it blisteringly quick - as it should be. This spec, albeit on a new platform, would have cost me more than double, had I ordered it from Dell.
