I am happy with the condition of the phone. I doubt the battery is at 90%-100% of the capacity of a brand new one, as was advertised, but I'll still keep using it.
I was not very pleased with the fact that there was no information on where the phone was going to be shipped from. If I had known it was coming from France (I live in Finland), I may not have ordered this specific phone. I could have found a similar one closer to home and reduced on transport costs and CO2 emissions. Now it even felt a bit pointless buying a second-hand phone since it came from relatively far away. There was a mention of shipping costs when buying the phone and I thought they were pretty big, but didn't think that much of it. I was unpleasantly surprised when I realised the phone would come all the way from France.
The phone itself is as advertised, the condition is good, not excellent, just good, which is exactly what I paid for. I feel like the price is a bit steep for a used phone from 1.5 years ago, especially since I could have gotten a similar brand-new phone for almost exactly the same price, with perhaps a little less functionality, but at least I would have had a guarantee that the battery really was new. Now I just have to trust the refurbishment process and having used the phone for a couple weeks now, I am not entirely sure I'd advertise the battery as being at least 90% matching the condition of a new one. Impossible to tell.
I like my phone and I'm not going to return it, but I'd think twice about using BackMarket again, the whole process was not very transparent and I would have liked to have more info on the origin of the specific product I was ordering. I'd also like to know how it's possible to guarantee that something is 90% to 100% the same condition as a new one. How could anyone measure it? Any discrepancy is just going to be chalked up to a measuring or rounding error.
Anyway, I'm glad the phone arrived. At least it's a unique phone with a rare colour. Not likely to see another one like it in Finland anytime soon.
Edit: The message after writing my review was really annoying, pretty much "you're awesome uwu, we're almost in love". I seriously considered coming back and changing my positive review into a negative one just because of it. Stop this style of communication. it's not endearing, it's patronising. I am giving you my money for a product and then on top of that, I'm giving you my time to review it. Please act accordingly, with a modicum of professionalism. Thank you. Merci.
