MacBook Retina 12-inch (2015) - Core M - 8GB SSD 512 AZERTY - French

I have used Black Market previously and for the first time I can’t give a 5 star review. the MacBook has a chip on the side of the casing that shows both sides of the screen bezel - to me this doesn’t qualify for excellent condition. In all other regards usual excellent delivery, high quality product fully restored and good to go on the current MacOS.

My device arrived super early but my joy was cut short too soon. Usually “good” looks very good so I was expecting that but the device looks noticeably used from outside. It took hours to charge only to be frustrated while trying to set it up. Normal click function not working, figuring out how to use keyboard for everything was emotionally taxing. My dream of owning a MacBook ended here. Battery always at zero% when charger removed. Support was great even though it was the holidays. A star for support.

Faulty product with bad battery that lasted less than 2 hours even after being charged to its full. I flagged this issue with seller who then continuously back-pedalled and blamed the fault on me ‘using’ the product. I mean who spends hundreds of pounds on a product to use it? Just use it as decoration right? Ridiculous. Whilst initial contact was good, after asking for a refund, responsiveness of seller tanked and the responses that they did send were shockingly dismissive. Instead of honouring the refund for their faulty device, the seller thought that they should send the unwanted device back to me… TWICE. I spoke with backmarket directly to complain about the seller and whilst communication with advisers was better, they promised that I would get a full refund once I returned the device to the seller (which I did promptly). Instead, once the seller received the device and sent it back to me yet again and I refused to accept it from the courier when they brought it to my door, backmarket decided to assign courier/delivery responsibility of the device to me as the customer after I’d 1) made explicitly clear that I did not want the device or any other replacement of any kind 2) the seller had gone against both my wishes and the instructions of backmarket advisers and 3) the device was not in my possession. I was told by backmarket that if the device did not make it back to the seller that I would not get my refund. This is clear fraud and I will be escalating this but wanted to post this transparent review for others to highlight what could happen in the case that things do not go right with a device and it’s seller. I bought the device initially to act as a secondary work laptop that I could travel with. I was initially very happy to try a refurbished device from backmarket as I usually always buy my products new. This is an experience that has tainted my curiosity around secondhand/ refurbished service providers which is a huge shame.

This came so quickly, I’ve had it for about two weeks and there’s been absolutely no problems with it so far!! Works so well.

Appalled in all honesty. Battery needs replacing and a green flash is always constantly occurring on the laptop unprovoked. After 2 days of use I am having to send this back for a replacement. I assume it needs a new battery.
