Back Market and BBC Studios join forces to create an interactive sculpture, celebrating 60 years of Doctor Who.
Celebrating the British TV show’s 60th anniversary – and to mark Ncuti Gatwa’s arrival as the new Doctor – Back Market has teamed up with BBC Studios to create a 2D art installation made entirely from regenerated tech. Enlisting the artistic expertise of agency Global Street Art, the 2m by 3m structure, which took over London South Bank this December, was comprised of phones, laptops, consoles, and beyond. Giving devices a new lease of life, this project highlights the environmental impact e-waste has on our planet. E-waste is the fastest-growing waste stream globally, and we’re on a mission to spread awareness of the importance of refurbishment, recycling, and repair.
