Black Friday 2023 is going to be on November 24th. As always, it's the day after Thanksgiving. Similarly, Cyber Monday 2023 is going to be on the following Monday, November 27th. 

This is the start of the busiest shopping season of the year. We've all been trained to expect the best deals during these last couple of months of the year. For that reason, it's a time many of us start considering big new purchases. However, there are also huge savings to be had on older models. 

The Apple Watch SE is one such piece of tech. It was released in 2020, just 2 years ago. But with new models being released every year since, it may seem ancient to some! 🐱‍🐉

We're happy to say though that this isn't actually the case. You'd be a savvy consumer to consider the Apple Watch SE in 2023. 👍 Let's take a closer look at the reasons why.

Is the Apple Watch SE still good?

In 2020, the first-generation SE was released along with the Apple Watch Series 6. However, it’s grouped in with the 2019 fifth-generation Apple Watch 5, and similar in design to the 2017 Apple Watch 3. 

That's maybe a bit confusing, but the point is that while the Apple Watch SE 1st-gen has since been updated with the 2022 SE second-generation, the original SE does remain one of the best values. Not to mention, with the newer models just being released, the older models will see even bigger price drops soon. 

In our opinion though, while the newer models are certainly upgrades, they're still only minimal upgrades. The Apple Watch SE has all the main sensors and features most people need. Sleep tracking, activity logging, iPhone notifications -- and it even tells the time! 😮

The Apple Watch SE is the complete package that’ll improve the functionality of your other Apple devices and improve the insights on your health. Unless you really need the additional sensors or better battery life, we don't see a huge reason to spend extra money on what'll essentially give you the same day-to-day experience.

How much does an Apple Watch usually cost in the UK?

When it was first released, the Apple Watch SE sold brand new for £269. It has since stopped being sold on Apple's website. This means you can only get 'new' Apple Watch SEs from resellers who still have some in-stock. From what we found, the cheapest deal on an Apple Watch SE right now is £182.50 (price checked on 02/11/2023 on pricerunner.com) 

Your other option is shopping on second-hand marketplaces. On Back Market, for example, the prices for a refurbished Apple Watch SE be as low as £169. That's the same exact product, backed by a 12-month warranty, in like-new condition, but cheaper! 👏

How much will an Apple Watch SE cost on Black Friday 2023 in the UK?

Black Friday deals can be hit or miss. While there are sometimes good savings to be had if you buy bundles or catch special limited offers, the majority of bargains are modest.

That's why we expect Black Friday Apple Watch SE deals in the UK  to be similar to their usual price. Our most optimistic prediction is that you'll be able to find it for £10 off on Amazon. But we don't see the lowest price going anywhere below £180. 😐

Is Black Friday 2023 the best time to buy an Apple Watch SE?

Black Friday is a popular time for shopping. And while it's fun to buy into the hype and hit the stores, it's really just an excuse for retailers to get people in the doors and clear out stock.
