Generally happy with service provided by Back Market for the phone I ordered. It was on behalf of a friend and he was very pleased with the quality of the phone.
However, there was a problem with the phone itself in that it wouldn’t charge and was stuck at the Apple Logo boot screen and he didn’t know how to fix it. Usually I can fix anything to do with an iPhone but even I found this to be a challenge. I suspect that the phone had been switched off part way through an update, corrupting the iOS. I tried all of my usual ideas and then downloaded iTunes from Apple’s website. It turned out to be a very out of date version (unbelievable Apple !). So I downloaded it again from the Microsoft store, this time an up to date version. After that I was able to set the phone into DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode which allows you to completely erase and reinstall the firmware on your device.
I feel that I shouldn’t have had to go this far and that Back Market should’ve done a more thorough check before the phone was despatched and this is the reason for giving four stars out of five. Anyway, it’s all working fine now and my friend is perfectly happy.
