    Here’s the thing with showing your ‘best’ reviews upfront… you have to live up to them. My order was simply a financial transaction. I paid a fee, the reseller eventually sent the phone. There was no making me feel special or valued. Even though I paid for express delivery, the phone was dispatched at the very last minute within the timeframe, and the phone is just that, a phone. It works and is not broken unlike my old one. So if Backmarket insist on showing the ‘amazing service’ reviews first, they might want to make sure all their reseller partners are on board with providing the same level of service.

    The device was MDM locked which was not apparent till after I had transferred all data from old phone. The new phone was then locked on the Management Device page so I could not access settings to reset it. Backmarket asked me to return the phone to the seller for refund despite the fact they knew all my data was on the phone. I refused to expose my data to the already discredited seller. Despite breaking many of their headline promises that phones will be a ‘clean slate’, ‘not locked’ and ‘customer peace of mind’ Backmarket customer services then hid behind the small print of their policies and refused to refund or replace the phone until I had returned it. Extremely poor customer service and irresponsible advice to expect a customer to deliberately put themselves in such a vulnerable position.
