    The laptop is in good condition, however it was packed very badly. The laptop was just thrown in a cardboard box without any protective film or packing to hold the laptop in place. This could have damaged the laptop during transport

    Customer service, delivery etc all really good and friendly and everything. Nothing to complain about. There is, however, a well known issue with the MacBook itself. The top lid is really really sensitive. It seems that everyday handling like carrying it around in your flat can cause the screen to crack, maybe even spontaneously some time later (which is what happened to me). The refurbisher may then call a warranty exclusion. Not Backmarket's or refurbisher's fault, just a fragile product. Save yourself the trouble and money and get the Pro (or maybe a more recent Air).

    All in all, for the price the laptop was pretty good standard, and the customer service is decent but my experience definitely became tiresome and disappointing. I ordered this laptop in excellent condition, and the one I received was for the most part well refurbished - the battery health was a bit lower than I expected and there was quite a bit of dirt underneath the keyboard, but good for the price. The issue is that Back Market do not specify whether the laptop is configured with a UK keyboard layout or a US one, and I unfortunately received an American one. This meant some of the cases and covers I had bought did not fit, which was disappointing. Out of curiosity, I asked customer service, who offered me an exchange, but back market don't guarantee this. I was convinced to sent the item back, however was unfortunately informed they could not exchange the item. I was then immediately issued a refund, which is a bit annoying, as I'd honestly rather have just accepted the situation and taken the American one. Since this week long back and forth, the price has gone up so if I did want to get one it's at increased expense. Like I say, the items are good for the money but if you do buy one be warned it's a bit of a gamble as to what you'll receive. Again, the service team are friendly, but the responses can take up to 24 hours so it feels very drawn out.
