    This time, I’m very happy with BackMarket’s service. The first time – back then it was an iPhone – the experience wasn’t quite so pleasant; though, in the website’s defence, it’s worth noting that the retailers registered on the platform should really be rated separately. For many, however, this isn’t even possible, as they simply don’t offer this option. Some also seem a bit dodgy, as you can’t even find them on Google Maps, for example... which is rather odd. Nevertheless, I decided to give it another go and this time order from a company based in Germany – not in France, Italy, etc. And I ordered a refurbished MacBook Pro M1 Max! Wow! A really great service! First of all: it arrived in a decent cardboard box! Sealed and well-padded with plenty of paper and bubble wrap to protect it from transport or delivery services, which – I just have to point out – aren’t exactly gentle with parcels... The package had been opened, and the MacBook looks ‘as good as new’ (in immaculate condition): no scratches or signs of wear whatsoever, the battery lasts for days, the speakers sound fantastic, no dead pixels on the screen... what can I say? THANK YOU, BACKMARKET and LAPSTORE GmbH (Münster)!

    The device came packaged so that no express delivery company in the world could have done anything to the small laptop. The condition was almost as good as new, only the USB-C socket still had a small crumb inside. The installation and set-up went very smoothly - until I had the idea (for which it was actually intended) to use it remotely from time to time (for router and laser cutter set-up; when both are running, I'm on site). It turned out that the user I had created was only half created, so I could log in on the laptop myself, RDP didn't work for a while. Took me a good 3 hours. Enough moaning. The screen is excellent, keyboard works well for a laptop, the surprise came with the touchpad that the "mouse buttons" are at the bottom. Unusual, but less fiddling in real life and less chance of accidentally touching the touchpad when you need the mouse buttons. Overall, I don't regret the purchase one bit, the control programmes run like a charm and the operating system updates itself well. And it recognised me immediately from my "office PC", i.e. the main computer. I'd be happy to use it again, but hopefully with a different product - long may the laptop last.
