Samsung S8 vs Samsung A50 Comparison

Samsung S8 vs A50

Are you deciding between a Samsung A50 and a Samsung S8 for your new smartphone? Each has its advantages. Read ahead to find out about the similarities and differences between these two models.

Samsung A50, better battery life

It's hard to tell these two smartphones apart when it comes to performance. both have an 8-core processor with a clocks speed of 2.3 GHz. However, the Samsung A50 is available in either 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM, as opposed to only 4 GB for the S8.

The same applies to the storage capacity. You're choosing between 64 GB or 128 GB on the A50 where you're only offered a 64 GB configuration with the the S8. The A50's battery life is also better, lasting 14 hours on average vs 12 hours for the Samsung S8.

Samsung S8, a more compact format

With its small size (148.9 × 68.1 × 8 mm compared to 158.5 × 74.7 × 7.7 mm for the Samsung A50), this model is very light in the hand. It weighs only 155 grams (166 grams for its competitor). In terms of design, it is elegant with its aluminium frame and glass back. On the other hand, the Samsung A50 has a plastic body. The Samsung S8 also has a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED screen that is very pleasant to look at and use.

On the photography front, however, it can't compete with the A50. The S8 has a single 12MP rear camera, while the Samsung A50 has three lenses with respectable resolutions (25MP, 8MP and 5MP). On the front side, it takes advantage of an 8 MP lens, compared to 25 MP in the A50.

Launched more recently (in 2019 compared to 2017 for the S8), it's no surprise that the Samsung A50 is technically better. It has a longer battery life, a larger and better screen. However, it is still superior in price. It is therefore suitable for users who are looking for the latest and greatest devices. If your usage is more modest, the Samsung S8 will still meet your expectations.
