Considered a refurbished laptop with reservations, but decided to go for it and bought a three year old Dell Latitude 7420, and Back Market excelled in their service, delivered in three days as they promised it would. Thumbs up great service

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 Stars – Outstanding Experience! This is my second purchase from Back Market, but my first-ever review—and it’s well deserved! Back Market and this particular trader were absolutely amazing. I ordered a laptop with 8 GB RAM, and to my surprise, it was upgraded to 16 GB at no extra cost! That completely made my day—16 GB was exactly what I needed, but I couldn’t afford the upgrade at the time. This kind of thoughtful service is rare. After a few weeks of use, I can confidently say the laptop is in excellent condition. The battery feels like new, and everything works perfectly. I’m beyond happy with my purchase and will definitely keep coming back if this quality and service continue. I highly recommend Back Market and this trader to anyone looking for reliable, affordable, and trustworthy refurbished tech.

absolutely thrilled with my purchase . Fab condition wouldn't know it was rated as "fair" as hardly any sign of use. Performs well no issues and was delivered next day . Battery life is a bit short but doesn't particularly mean much to me as I have it either plugged in at home or the office. Thank you !!

Update:- I have changed my review from a 2-star to a 4-star. Ultimately, my original review was still my experience and as such I could not give a 5-star review and will leave what I initially said below. However, prior to submitting my initial review I had put in a ticket claiming the device sent to me was faulty. There was no human interaction, just a few questions with multiple choice answers. There was no fuss, no complaints and back market immediately prvoided me with a "Proof of sale" receipit and a return label. I happened to see the address of the refurbishers was in a nearby location to me. A good chunk of my negative experience seemed to be down to DPD. I knew I was going to be driving past the area so thought I'd chance my arm and contact the refurbishers directly to see if I could forgo waiting the seemingly small eternity it takes for the "express" delivery to actually get there and just hand it in myself. Thankfully, they were agreeable to that suggestion and told me to pop in whenever they were open to get the process started. I had travelled in the next day. When I got there I spoke to a guy at the counter and explained to him that I had bought a machine on Back Market, put in a ticket claiming a fault with the device, and had phoned up the day prior to see if I could come in directly. He was super understanding and didn't complain, bicker, or make the process a hassle. He called another individual up who asked me a few questions regarding the machine before quickly taking it to the back of their store. At best, I thought I saved myself a few days waiting for DPD to get the device to them before they took a few days to fix it and then a few more to get it back to me but I found myself pleasently surprised. Initially, they asked me if I was staying in the area and for my phone number if I was. That they'd treat this as a priority and give me a ring if they could get it fixed that same day. However, they then asked me to wait a few minutes before coming out with a like-for-like machine. A machine that was in high-good to mid-excellent condition. Compared to the original one I had received which was low-good condition at best. The guy I dealt with sincerely apologied for the inconvenience, encouraged me to test the replacement device to ensure I was happy with the switch and that it was working as I would expect it to, and then sent me on my way. The whole interaction took no time at all, it honestly took me longer to find parking. As mentioned, the machine was like-for-like. Same specs and parameters. I did lose out on a camera cover (the little plastic bit which covers the lense) but gained a whole lot more in the quality of its condition. With this in mind, Back Market is a service that I could recommend, but with fair warning: my experience is going to be fairly unique to me. Ultimately this issue should have been caught before it was sent to me. However, I was very lucky with how fast, and how fair the refurbishers were with me in getting this resolved, but that might not necesarily translate to other businesses. Refurbished goods are a gamble, so do expect that issues may come from purchasing one. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original:- I needed a laptop for personal use and to continue coding development whilst travelling. After days of research I found the best fit for me and my needs was an Apple Mac, however, to buy one from new is incredibly pricey. That's when I just happened to come across Back Market. They offered a deal for a 16" Macbook Pro that I thought was too good to be true. Sadly, it seemed my gut feeling was shouting at me for a reason. To review each step:- Purchasing: Super simple and straight forward. With modern day online shopping it's hard to get wrong, honestly. I did get spammed three or four times with offers for accidental damage insurance but upon reading the fine print, it's basically just an 'idiot tax'. If you're clumsy, plan to use your product as a frisbee or as a drink coaster it may be worth it. Tracking: I had two methods of tracking my package. One was through Back Market directly, and the other was through the courier service (In this instance, DPD). Tracking may be subject to multiple variables, such as the refurbisher or the courier but for my experience: Back Market was fairly basic. It offers four stages; Ordered, Prepared, Shipped, Delivered. DPD is a bit more in-depth, acknowledging they are to receive a package, when they do receive it, when it is heading to a depot, when it arrives at a depot, when it is heading for delivery, etc... This is all great but a common issue between both trackers is they're not updated on time. I consistently found updates for my package dating a day or two prior compared to when I was actually notified, so I never truly knew where or what point I was at in the delivery process. Delivery: As mentioned, tracking wasn't accurate or updated on time. I purchased the express delivery option. It gave me a four day inclusive window for 26/09 - 29/09. The last day of express (29/09) overlapped as the first day for standard delivery. I did receive the package on 29/09 which was the latest estimated day. When I did get tracking updates, I saw my package was making it's way more and more North, despite the fact I live in the South East. It also spent an entire day in a random depot before making its way back down south towards me. I appreciate and acknowledge this isn't Back Market or the Refurbishers fault, more the couriers but it is irksome when you go for express delivery just to see your package get further and further away and then stay for 24 hours+ in a depot which is further from you than its original starting point. However, it did arrive in the morning of 29/09. The Delivery driver was pleasent and quick. Packaging: The package itself was packed fairly well. I received the laptop inside a Back Market box (Not the original, which is fine, have to expect that with Refurbishement), a usb-c to usb-c charging cable and a usb-c power adapter, which came in its own box, but was slightly beat up. All items were loosely wrapped in bubble wrap. All items were cold to the touch, especially the laptop, as if though it'd been stored in a chiller or fridge. Again though, I imagine the fault for that is with the courier. Charger / Power Adapter: As mentioned, the power adapted came in it's own box. The box was a bit beat up but it otherwise appeared new. I did plug in the charger for half an hour and it got extremely hot in that time. Though I believe this is a common fault for Apple chargers. USB-C to USB-C Cable: Wrapped well. Worked perfectly. Not Magsafe but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Laptop:- Outer Appearance: The laptop was sold to me in "Good" condition and I'd say how it arrived was fairly accurate. A few scuffs and marks. One noticeable scratch on the back but overall not a real issue, just cosmetic. Easily fixed with something like a DBrand Skin. Inner Appearnce: The screen had a few tiny bubbles but they're not at all visible or a problem when the screen is on. The keyboard looked clean. The speakers and edges had a few stains and marks but again, they're hard to spot, especially in certain lights. Functionality: Now to come onto my main gripe and the reason I'm reviewing 2 stars. When I received the laptop it had zero charge. However, everything else seemed to be in order. Start up was fast, software seemed to work, setup was fairly simple, speakers worked great. However, I came across an issue. When pressing the right shift key on the internal keyboard, it "sticks", causing all keys pressed to type in CAPS or symbols (!, @, £, $, %, ^, etc...). Will also mimic all shift functionality, such as selecting and highlighting text. The physical key itself does not "stick" and mechanically functions like every other pressed key. However, once pressed the right shift key virtually functions as if though it has been pressed indefinitely until one of the following characters is typed : [ '9', 'o', 'l', '.', '→' ], in which case it will "unstick". ( Note: '→' represents the right arrow key ) Restarting the machine also "unsticks" the key until it is pressed again. I have attempted to do basic troubleshooting for potential software issues (Restart system, enable-disable sticky keys, System reset, Booting in Safe Mode, Running diagnostics, etc...) but the issue still persists. Normally I would be patient. It's a Refurbishment, so issues are bound to come up and Back Market offers warranty to get it fixed. But they also claim they have a 25-point check system, which includes the functionality of the keys and software. Right shift is a commonly pressed key, common enough for me to consider it not working as a deal-breaker. It really should've been caught before it was shipped off and kind of implies that this 25-point check system is just for show and not something they actually do. Epilogue: I have put in a Ticket for this issue to be resolved. I went through the process which is all predetermined choices to navigate where you need to go. I didn't speak to a single human (nor have I tried to). I specified my issue, provided context and details and was immediately given a Proof of Sale and Return label to send it back. My local post office is closed currently so I will be sending it off tomorrow but I will now have to wait a further 5 - 7 days, and it'll be 5 - 7 days from when they receive it (and let's face it, it'll be 7) before I get it back in the condition it should've been in when I first got it. Assuming it gets fixed at all. I'll consider updating my review when this whole kerfuffle is resolved, but for now I am very disappointed in my experience so far. Approach with caution, especially with the deals that seem too good to be true.

It works extremely well. So far, I have downloaded quite intensive software (100gb worth) and the Laptop has not slowed down or faltered at all. Screen looks good and the Laptop looks as if brand new. Only down side is that battery drains quite quickly but not anymore than I have experienced with other HP laptops. Really Happy with the purchase!

Fantastic laptop, arrived like new and already set up, ready to go. I had already bought a mac laptop a decade ago via Black Market and I am glad to see the service is still strong! My daughter is over the moon and now I am jealous of her laptop. :-)

I am extremely happy with my MacBook Pro. It came with twice the RAM and the upgraded i9 processor - all at no extra cost. The condition was almost immaculate. The only evidence of prior use was typical keyboard shine on the most used keys. The keyboard backlight is slightly dimmer on one side. Had I not received these incredible free upgrades to the hardware I might have considered asking for this problem to be resolved but it’s minor and the machine is performing wonderfully. Delivery was within 48 hours of ordering and it was well packaged. I feel like I got an amazing deal so thank you!
