iPhone SE (2020) vs iPhone 6s Plus Comparison

iPhone SE vs 6S Plus: two very different phones and one will last you longer

Almost everything about the iPhone SE vs 6S Plus is different, the first and most important factor being the overall age of the device. And just to clarify, we’re talking about the 2nd generation iPhone SE, since there is waning interest in the increasingly obsolete 1st generation iPhone SE. Even though the 2nd generation of iPhone SE will be more expensive than the older 1st generation, it will be a much better experience to use because it has a much newer processor, which will make the device 3-4 times faster, and you can expect it to receive the newest Apple iOS software updates until at least 2024.

iPhone SE vs 6S Plus: the 6S Plus is already obsolete

This is perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind when comparing the iPhone SE vs 6S Plus: although the 6S Plus is much cheaper, it’s already technically obsolete. At the time of writing this, iOS 15 has not been released yet, but when it is, we doubt that the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will receive it. The 6S series may still receive some updates after this point, but developer support for most apps will slowly wane away. The iPhone SE, meanwhile, is sure to receive the newest iOS updates until at least 2024 because it has a much newer chip that will be able to handle all the latest and greatest software optimizations that Apple has yet to invent.

iPhone SE vs 6S Plus: screen size differences

When you compare the screen sizes on the iPhone SE vs 6S Plus, you’ll notice that the 6S Plus has a much bigger screen, which is obviously going to be nice for watching YouTube videos or reading content. And although this screen still looks great by today’s standards, it’s sad that the other internal components in the 6S Plus (primarily the A9 chip) are on the verge of obsolescence. Therefore, even though the 6S Plus is still a nice device for watching videos or reading content, we can’t recommend it to any of our readers, because we don’t know how much longer the apps and other software services on this device will receive developer support.

iPhone 6S Plus size vs iPhone SE size

The iPhone 6S Plus has a height of 15.8 cm, width of 7.8 cm, thickness of 7.3 mm and weighs 192 grams.

The iPhone SE has a height of 12.4 cm, width of 5.9 cm, thickness of 7.6 mm and weighs 113 grams.
