Google Pixel 4 vs Google Pixel 4 XL Comparison

Pixel 4 vs Pixel 4 XL: it’s really a matter of trade-offs

First of all, let me just start by telling you that there aren’t many differences between the Pixel 4 vs 4 XL. These are both essentially the same device, with the XL version being clearly bigger to accommodate a larger screen (6.3” vs 5.7”). The screen inside the XL also has a slightly higher pixel density (537ppi vs 444ppi) and resolution (1440 x 3040 vs 1080 x 2280). But the biggest differentiator between these two devices is the battery capacity (3700mAh vs 2800mAh). This gives the XL a total estimated 10 hours of battery life while browsing, while the Pixel 4 only averaged at about 8 hours in similar tests. What does this mean for the average user, like you? The Pixel 4 may have trouble getting you through a full day without recharging—this is actually the main complaint among many owners of the device.

Pixel 4 vs Pixel 4 XL: make a choice based on how much battery life you need

To be honest, I love the smaller form factor of the Pixel 4. The XL version is a little too bulky for my liking, especially since I spend a lot of time using my device with just one hand, so I love a device that has a smaller screen, so I can easily stretch my thumb to touch any corner of the display using the same hand. But at the same time, I want a device with a battery life that’s long enough, so I don’t need to worry about it as I go about my day. My fear is that the Pixel 4 can easily be that device that dies way too quickly if you plan on spending extended time away from a charger. I also like to dabble in some gaming, which I’m sure would quickly eat away the puny battery inside the Pixel 4. But if battery duration isn’t that important to you, the refurbished Pixel 4 may be a great phone for you. Otherwise, the refurbished Pixel 4 XL will probably be a better fit for you.
